Thrips and methods of prevention

تThrips are fed to a wide variety of sources, both plant and animal, through their hole and absorption of their contents. A large number of insect species are considered harmful insects, since they feed on commercially valuable plants. Some types of thrips feed on other insects or lichens and are considered parasitic, while others feed on fungus or pollen. About 5000 species of these insects have been described so far. Thrips are generally small in size (1 mm in length or less) and are not skilled at flying although wind can carry them for long distances. If appropriate conditions exist, the numbers of many species may increase exponentially and become large, making them alarming for humans.
